The Operation Pollination continues!

Operation Pollination is a community-collaborative environmental initiative centered around education and restoration of our planet’s biodiversity.
In 2024-25 our District made “good ground” with 25 clubs participating in a district-wide environment project - for the first time!

As members across our District continue to deepen their understanding and appreciation of pollinators - more and more clubs are getting involved.
Everyone is invited to join in helping to restore healthy ecosystems in any way you can.

This the point-earnings has been redesigned to make it easier, simpler, and we hope more “rewarding” for clubs to participate.
The point-earning activity chart  will be divided into 3 tiers, the first being the simplest to achieve; the second is more challenging with higher points earned, with the third tier of activities the most involved.

To encourage participation at this level, 3rd tier point-earning activities may qualify for a 50% matching mini grant up to $100.

Here is an example of how it could work:
Your club intends to create an all-milkweed-and-native-plant Monarch Way Station. you download, complete, and submit an Operation Pollination Mini Grant Application  requesting the 50% match for estimated expenses of $200 along with a description of the project. A few photos of the site will only help. If selected, District 6650 awards your club $100.

Because the District budget for these mini grants is limited, applications must be considered on a first-come-first-priority basis.

Send your Mini Grant Application to both Christine Cope ccope@unitedwaytrumbull.org and Elayne Bozick emsbozick@gmail.com.

Once all applications are received by the Environment Committee, they will select as many projects as our District can afford to match.
The total points earned by your club and Mini-Grant Applications are due by April 30, 2026.

Don’t worry if your “activity” hasn’t been accomplished by the submission date! Applying the 4-Way Test, if completed by June 30th your club’s projected points still qualify as earned.

The year-end prize will be $500 awarded to the club earning the most points!

Here’s to another successful year for our pollinators – doing more together!
